Village located in the flat part of the river Hornad. Own village is first mentioned in 1279. It belonged to the Community Spiš Saxons, in 1465 it became the property of Spiš Castle. In 1582 won the right to market. In this part of the Slovak Paradise can be seen at the nearby Zelena hora remains of medieval fortifications Marcelov hrad of the 13th century.
